Wine membranes and filters
Cross-flow membrane filtration was born in the early 1960s, a technology also used in the wine industry for a wide range of applications. In recent years, membrane separation technologies have found more and more space and an application increase in the wine sector, both within the production cycle and in the management of by-products:
- CONCENTRATION: Using cross flow filtration membranes it is possible to obtain a forced concentration which allows a natural increase in the sugar content, alcohols or other compounds, an increase of the color body in young wines is also obtained.
- PARTIAL DEALCOLATION: It is possible to obtain a reduction of alcohol, combining cross flow membrane filtration system with other technologies.
- CLARIFICATION: you can clarify with membranes the fermentation products from substances, tannins or yeasts, accelerating the growth process and improving its quality.
- COLOR REDUCTION: Partial or total color reduction is possible, which can be achieved with membrane systems.
- DEACIDIFICATION: allows the elimination of a part of the volatile acidity , maintaining the remaining structure of the wine.
