Ozone is a triatomic molecule of oxygen and it is a strong oxidant that does not leave any kind of residue on the final product. Ozone is an unstable gas and cannot be stored because it returns, after a very short time, to its original state. Ozone is used to test the durability of some materials. The laboratory test most commonly performed is the resistance of vulcanized or thermoplastic rubbers to ozone: SEPRA has created a special machine type OZONE TEST CHAMBER and named it: GEO Test
The machine is formed by a closed chamber where the specimens subjected to tests are housed. PLC can be set for various kinds of tests that allow you to change a number of environmental parameters in a confined environment:
- The concentration of ozone;
- Temperature;
- Testing time;
The machine is equipped with a blower for mixing air and ozone, an instrument for measuring the concentration of ozone and catalytic destroyers of each vent for the elimination of residual ozone. The software, realized on the standard ISO 1431, is able to prepare over 12 recipes by varying the following parameters within the test chamber:
- Ozone concentration;
- Temperature;
- Testing time;
