Hollow Fiber Polymeric Membrane for Laboratory Use
Hollow Fiber Polymeric Membrane for Laboratory Use
For cross flow filtration tests (microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration) on solution volumes in the order of 5-20 liters it is possible to use membranes with a hollow fiber configuration which, although working with reduced dimensions, are operated in the conditions of an industrial plant. The advantage of hollow fiber membranes lies in the possibility of processing solutions containing suspended solids, which is impossible in the spiral wound configuration. These membranes, size 24x300 mm, with 1 or 7 channels, can be used in the MEMBRATEST system designed by Sepra or in other similar equipment available on the market.
The MEMBRATEST system must simply be connected to a process line where the liquid to be treated is available or to a feed tank, previously loaded with an appropriate quantity of solution (normally 5-20 liters). It is then possible to carry out a sample separation, batch or continuous. The feed tank can also be used for washing.
